1. Established 1924:
Regina Auto Body (RAB) was one of the first established auto body shops in western Canada. George Mario became a partner of the third group of owners at RAB in 1965 with his sons Chris, Greg and Mike purchasing shares in 1989. Still at the original location, RAB has become a landmark in the city of Regina and is located on one of the highest traffic flow streets in the city. We pride ourselves as being a "family business" and maintaining the family attitude throughout the business.
2. Modern Facility and Equipment:
RAB has kept up with the latest in equipment technology and will continue to do so. If any equipment or tool is worn out or broken, it receives top priority to repair or replace it. The recently completed renovations outside and inside the shop make the overall appearance modern yet nostalgic. The shop is cleaned twice a week to ensure a healthy environment. Our office has been computerized since 1986 and just recently we upgraded the entire network to become one of the only totally computerized shops in the city.
3. Reputation and Customer Retention:
We have a steady workflow because over 80% of our business is repeat customers and customer referrals. We pride ourselves in sending customer follow up letters and reply cards to get the customers' opinions on how the whole repair process was handled.
4. Flexible Hours:
As long as we meet our customer's needs, flexible hours are available. If an employee wants to work late or come in early and leave early, we can usually accommodate. Along with the flexible hours are flexible holiday schedules, meaning an employee can take one holiday day at a time or one week at a time as long as we are informed.
5. Health and Safety Programs:
RAB has a complete health and dental plan for the whole family. Along with disability and life insurance there is also optional life for spouses. The very competitive rates are second to none. We have received the Workers' Compensation Merit Award numerous times and have regular occupational health and safety meetings to make RAB a safe and healthy place to work.
6. Training:
RAB was the first ICAR Gold Class Shop in Canada and we are committed to ongoing training. We ensure that any new repair methods are implemented as soon as the technicians are trained. We supply all training expenses and all we ask our technicians is to supply their time at the course.
7. Incentive and Bonus Programs:
RAB has numerous incentive and bonus programs for the staff. We have bonuses based on customer reply cards that are mailed back to us by the customer, referral based programs for technicians, bonuses based on material consumption and incentive programs based on total hours. We also bonus staff on the number of years of service, with the bonuses handed out every 5 years.
8. Wages and Pay Schedule:
RAB is competitive with all of our wages. Because 95% of our work is collision related, technicians can make a comfortable living. We pay all staff weekly which puts them in a position to make weekly payments on their mortgages, loans, or any other payments that they may have; therefore helping them save thousands in interest payments.
9. Communication:
The lines of communication are always open at RAB. Because we have all been technicians ourselves, we understand the frustrations that staff can experience in a day on the job. We are approachable and easily accessible to help our staff work out those frustrations. We will facilitate the quickest resolution of problems.
10. Insurance Relations:
The trust level that needs to be established between the repairer and actual payer is very important to everyone at RAB. That trust has been built over years and years of hard work between insurance companies and RAB. The honesty factor is very important to us to keep that level of trust.
